Alan Whittle (born 1 February 1947) is a former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1960s and 1970s. He played at club level for St Helens, Barrow, Warrington (Heritage No.749), Wigan and Oldham RLFC (Heritage No.796), as a, or .[1] [2]

Alan Whittle was a unused substitute in St. Helens' 16-13 victory over Leeds in the 1972 Challenge Cup Final during the 1971–72 season at Wembley Stadium, London on Saturday 13 May 1972, played left- in Warrington's 24-9 victory over Featherstone Rovers in the 1974 Challenge Cup Final during the 1973–74 season at Wembley Stadium, London on Saturday 11 May 1974, in front of a crowd of 77,400 and played in the 7-14 defeat by Widnes in the 1975 Challenge Cup Final during the 1974–75 season at Wembley Stadium, London on Saturday 10 May 1975, in front of a crowd of 85,998.
