Haruni (Persian: هاروني) is a city in Laran District of Shahrekord County, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province, Iran, serving as the administrative center for Lar Rural District.[2] The previous capital of the rural district was Sureshjan.[3]

The city is populated by Persians.[4] [5]

Population

At the time of the 2006 National Census, Haruni's population was 4,317 in 881 households, when it was a village in Lar Rural District.[6] The following census in 2011 counted 4,218 people in 1,044 households.[7] The 2016 census measured the population as 3,601 people in 966 households,[8] by which time Haruni had been elevated to the status of a city.
