The locality is dominated by motor sport venues, which include Mac's Speedway, the Palmyra Drag Racing Club and a Karting track. Mac's Speedway earned its name after the McNicholl family and the track has hosted important motorcycle speedway events,[2] including the final of the Queensland Solo Championship, which was a qualifying round of the Speedway World Championship in 1991.[3] [4] [5]
