Mafia: The Old Country Explained

Mafia: The Old Country is an upcoming action-adventure video game developed by Hangar 13 and published by 2K. It is scheduled to be released at some point in 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S and Microsoft Windows. It is a prequel to the Mafia series, and its fourth entry, after Mafia III.^{[1] [2]}

Synopsis

Setting

The game is based in Sicily in the 1900s, in the fictional town of San Celeste, which was previously featured in Mafia II.^[3] It is based around the origins of the Mafia.^[4]

Release

The game was announced via a reveal trailer at Gamescom 2024 in Germany. It is scheduled to be released in 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S and Microsoft Windows.^[5]
