Marilyn Dumont (born 1955, Olds, Alberta) is a Canadian poet and educator of Cree / Métis descent.
Born in northeastern Alberta, she is a descendant of Gabriel Dumont.[1] Dumont holds an MFA from the University of British Columbia.[2] Her work is widely anthologized. She is currently a Full Professor at the University of Alberta cross appointed in the Faculties of Arts and Native Studies. In the Faculty of Arts - English & Film Studies Department she teaches Indigenous Literature and creative writing.[3]
