Secretos de familia (English title: Family Secrets) is a Chilean telenovela created by Catalina Calcagni and Felipe Montero.[1] It premiered on Canal 13 on March 10, 2024.[2] It stars Álvaro Rudolphy, Daniela Ramírez, Francisco Reyes, Juan Falcón, Nicolás Saavedra and Simón Pesutic.[3]
Elena Valdés, a pediatrician who returns to Chile after 15 years of living in Spain, encounters the death of her sister, Sara Valdés, into the mystery. Together with Martín Fernández, who blames Elena's family for the death of his wife, they embark on a frantic search for the truth, revealing dark family secrets led by Octavio Cruchaga and his children Raquel, Alfonso and Gerardo.[4]
The collaboration between AGTV and Canal 13 dates back to August 2019 and includes people such as consultant Jaime de Aguirre and directors Vicente Sabatini and Cristián Mason, as well as the channel's representative, Matías Ovalle.
The project initially contemplated the development of a nighttime thriller, devised by screenwriter Catalina Calcagni. During the process, the roles of Álvaro Rudolphy in the lead role and Vicente Sabatini as director of the production were confirmed.
However, the pre-production of the project suffered setbacks to health measures due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Chile, which resulted in the temporary suspension of Sabatini's participation and the halting of negotiations with the actors.
In November 2020, pre-production, casting and script reading activities resumed, culminating in the confirmation of Daniela Ramírez in the female lead role, as well as the incorporation of actors such as Simón Pesutic, Francisco Reyes, Mariana Loyola and María José Illanes.
In September 2022, its sales process in the international market was announced. In addition, promotional materials, such as posters and official images, were released through Canal 13's official website.[5]
In May 2023, Hernán Contreras criticized Canal 13 for not having yet released the production two years after it was recorded.[6]
