Dumbrava is a village administered by Trușeni. On June 17, 1992, in a decision taken by the Moldovan Government, the land that would soon be Dumbrava was given to Trușeni Commune.[5] One year after the decision, roads started to be built in the Dumbrava area, with the first home appearing in 1994. The village did not have an official name until August 15, 2001, when the Trușeni Local Council approved the name Dumbrava.[6]
